Sohini Gupta

Namaskar! I’m a PhD student in Electrical and Computer Engineering (ECE) at the University of Alberta and Alberta Machine Intelligence Institute (Amii). I completed my Dual Degree in Electrical Engineering (B.Tech) and Machine Learning and Signal Processing (M.Tech) from the Indian Institute of Technology Kharagpur.

My doctoral research will be conducted in the NeuBahar Lab under the supervision of Dr. Bahareh Tolooshams. My focus will be on NeuroAI, with interests in representation learning, inverse problems, and interpretable AI inspired by the brain. I also plan to explore Brain-Computer Interface applications, with a wish to create impact that serves humanity.

Outside of research, I am passionate about sports, and I have a love for badminton and volleyball. I also enjoy baking and have a decent hand at painting (view).
